Okay, I would never actually buy this, but I do have this weird fascination with Freddie Mercury of Queen. I don't know what it is..I just love him!

Did you Know?

Did you know that one of the best ways to get people to read your blog is to leave comments on their blogs? I am always seeking new blogs to read and it is a really good way to find you. Usually you have the same interests too!

This subject came up back in January in the blogging world regarding "lurkers" who don't leave comments. Since that post, comments on my blog did increase-a little.

But I got to thinking... How can I ask you guys to leave more comments when I myself am not leaving many comments either. I read a lot of blogs daily and sometimes I just don't know what to say. I do see a lot of things that I love, but I don't know how to put it in words or just don't have time to comment.

So I have added a "sign my guest book" to my sidebar. I would love to know more about YOU! Sign it once and still leave comments if you like. I really find it interesting who is reading and where you are from!

Happy Blogging

Slanket

The Slanket is a Gigantic fleece blanket with loose, oversized sleeves so you never feel constricted and you have total control of how to use them, while staying toasty. The Slanket is made of a thick and warm 310 gsm fleece that feels very soft on the skin. The slanket is great on a couch, a chair, in a hammock, on your bed or anywhere else you care to take it.
I need this! I am always cold in this house. I have even gotten in my hubby's sleeping bag sitting at the computer.

Family Tree

A few months ago, I got really interested in geneology. I wanted to find out who my family was. It is really interesting to look at old census documents. I got stuck on one relative and kinda got discouraged and stopped. I hope to get back into it soon.

Scrappy Necklace

I was visiting with a friend of a friend who owns a quilt shop, and I was talking to her about how my mom is really crafty, recycles like a maniac and can make something out of anything. So she gave me a bag of scraps from the shop and said here, take this to your mom and make something out of this... so here is a good way to use up those scraps...

Pop Tarts

I love pop tarts. My guilty pleasure to toast them, poke little holes on top with a fork and spread butter all over the top. And they have to be frosted strawberry. It is something that I don't do often, as a matter of fact I haven't done it in years, but it is soo yummy!

What I got for Valentines

My husband surpised me with a MP4 plater and some chocolates. That was a very nice surprise.

I wound up getting him a picture frame for his office with our favorite picture of us when we were married.

Have a Happy Vanetines everyone!

Daily Paintings

I think I came across this on Swiss Miss. I cant find the original post, but I really liked this artist Justin Clayton. Justin made a new years resolution last year to paint daily to improve his painting skills. You can purchase these paintings on e-bay or through the artist. There are a slew of other artists that do a painting a day, check them out.

Valentines is tomorrow!!!

I want to know what everybody is giving their significant other for Valentines. I still don't know what I am gonna give my husband yet. He feels like it is more of a woman's holiday anyway. He doesn't really get into all of that sappy stuff.

Speaking of sappy stuff... two years ago I wanted to do something unusual and really sappy. I went to Build a Bear and built a LOVE BUG. You can put these little voice recorders in the hands, feet, ears or belly. So I went in the bathroom at Build a Bear and recorded me singing cheesy love songs, like How Deep is Your Love by the Bee Gees, I Love You, I Honestly Love You by Olivia Newton John. There were more but I cant remember. I also wrote this little poem to go with it.

Press my paws
And you will hear
The cheesiest love songs
Of the year
They are sung by your wife
Who loves you so dear
So don’t laugh too hard
I think she is deaf in one ear
She may not be an American Idol
Or Britney Spears
But she loves you so much
She wanted you to hear
It comes from the heart
And her deep love for you
So Happy Valentines day
from this Love Bug to you
February 14, 2005

I took it to his work along with some chocolate dipped strawberries and a balloon while he was at lunch. While I was trying to be sappy and embarrassing, he had something up his sleeve as well.

It was getting late in the afternoon and he hadn't sent flowers or made a big deal out of the day at all. I was kinda getting mad. I had even made a comment that he probably forgot to get me something. Little did I know that he had planned along with my coworkers a big surprise. He had a barbershop quartet come to my work and serenade me. It was sooo embarrassing! They sang---oh man, I have just sat here for 15 minutes trying to think of what they sang. Anyways that was a good Valentines!

I want to hear from you!

I feel so stupid!

Remember this post about the beautiful quilt that I found over at buzzville?

I promise you guys, I am not a blonde. But that picture was not actually the quilted part. It was the printed material that was the back of the quilt. I did not read the whole post. I was just so caught up in the beauty of the whole thing! I just had to redeem myself.

Here is the front of the quilt. Still quite amazing!

By the way, you can buy that material at J & O Fabric Center.

Here's another great idea. This is an old pulpit from a church. Danny Seo at Simply Green uses it in his home as a TV stand with storage in the back. It can easily be pushed up against the wall to hide the clutter.

Organization

I love to make lists. I used to keep a journal in my purse and jot down lists all of the time. Then I got a new cell phone with a built in pda. I feel like it took more time to put in the pda. It just isn't the same as writing things down.

I came across this blog, Queenly Things. In her "about" sidebar instead of her picture of herself she had a silhouette.
So I decided to put my silhouette of me when I was three. What do you think?

Yoga Sandals

“Spread your toes” is a favorite yoga teacher mantra for a reason. Separating your toes improves your balance, flexibility and alignment. Worn around the house or on errands, our therapeutic sandals retrain your feet to do just that while also helping to relieve painful foot conditions.
